Nichel’s Boudoir Session | Jacksonville, NC Boudoir Photographer | Jacksonville, NC Boudoir

Last week Nichel drove up from Atlanta to have a boudoir shoot with me. One of my dearest friends from Memphis referred her to me and I’m so thankful. Nichel is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and I’m so glad we did this! Hands down, best part of my job is working with these amazing women and showing them how absolutely stunning they are!

Why Andrea King Photography? What made you decide to book with me?

I researched a lot of photographers in the Atlanta area (currently reside) but didn’t find the absolute look I was going for. It wasn’t until my best friend referred me to Andrea. Once I saw her website and the quality of work she captured, I knew she would my photos.

Why Boudoir Photography?

My husband’s birthday was coming up and, like everyone else, he really didn’t need anything. I wanted to do something that was thoughtful but also that he could cherish. I had friends and family that had done Boudoir photoshoots for their significant others so I figured it’d be a great gift for him.

How did you feel before the session vs after it wrapped?

Before the session, I was a little anxious. I knew of Andrea from a friend, but didn’t actually know her. When it came to my Boudoir photoshoot, that’s actually what I wanted. But after our conversations through the makeup session I realized she was more like family. The anxiety simmered and I was ready to shoot.

After the session I felt so confident. I was astonished, that I was able to take such stunning pictures. To this day, they still take my breath away.

Comments I’ve received:
“We’re getting all of these, but them all”
“Oh you did that sis”
“Dope, you killed it 🔥”
“Dammmmmnnn sis, she did the damn thing on your pictures”
“You understood the assignment 🔥”

What was your reaction to your images during your reveal?

Jaw dropping. First off, I would have never imagined me taking pictures like this but the beauty of it all, it helped me realize how amazing my body looks in lingerie. But the reveal was really for my husband lol. Let’s just say, he thought he was attending a sales presentation to which he told Andrea, she was wasting his time. Until…his mouth hit the floor and he was about to cry. Assignment complete ✅

If you could say one thing to the women who are too scared to book a boudoir experience what would it be?

It’s one hell of an experience but I can tell you this, DO IT and you’ll come out walking like the baddest bitch stallion style!

One of my clients reminded me of how good booking a shoot can be for your mental health. I’m not talking about seeing the final result, I’m talking about the process we go through leading up to the shoot. Getting your hair done, getting your nails done, or getting a bikini wax can simply transform your mood and make you feel like a woman again. It’s a simple indulgence in self care that we overlook because most of the time our focus is on the shoot as well. I know that in my every day life I wear a messy bun and gym shorts almost every day. You can’t pour from an empty cup so make sure you’re doing something to refill yours. 💕

I generally disappear from all aspects of life during this time of year. I’d rather be floating in the ocean and spending time with my boys than staring at my screen. But I feel like I still need to say this- ladies- put on your bathing suit and participate in life. Go swim in the ocean, lay out by the pool, take your littles to the splash pad. Stop tugging and hiding because you are worried what people think about you in a bathing suit. In 10 years your people will not remember what your hair was like, what type of bathing suit you had on, or what the number on the scale was. They are going to remember the laughter, the joy, and fun that you had together. You’re going to miss making memories with the people who love you just the way you are because you’re worried about people who you don’t even know. So just stop it. Put on your swimsuit and have fun, go running as fast as you can into those waves. Life is too short to do anything but that. 🫶🏻

Be too much, say the quiet part out loud. Don’t worry about what other people think about you. Your people will find you because your spark will radiate through the darkest and quietest corners. Love yourself unapologetically, you will never be the version of yourself that you are in this moment.
