Brittany’s Boudoir Session | Wilmington Boudoir Photographer | Boudoir Photography

Brittany stopped by the studio for a day of pampering and an amazing boudoir session. She totally killed her shoot and looks amazing in her images!

Why Andrea King Photography?

Well, we’ve worked together before when you did my wedding and I completely trust you!

Why Boudoir Photography?

I’ve thought about doing this for awhile and you made the announcement so it was perfect timing! I wanted to do something for myself for a change! It takes me out of my comfort zone, I’ve never done this before. I used to give myself all of the excuses about not doing this type of session. I finally realized that it’s about being happy in the skin you’re in and celebrating that. I’m going through PCOS right now and this is for me to take my power back. When you’re going through something like this it’s easy to get discouraged. You’re going to the doctor and you’re constantly hearing that you’re overweight, you’re not doing things right, your body isn’t working right. It feels like you’re a failure in so many ways and this is my way to take the power back and to celebrate myself.

How did you feel before the session vs after?

Before: I’m a little nervous going into this because I don’t know what to expect, but I’m super excited too!

After: After awhile it felt natural, it was very easy and fun. Super comfortable and natural and fun!

Any advice for women who are too scared to book a boudoir experience?

Anyone who is on the fence about booking with Andrea please just do it! I promise you won’t regret it. I went into my shoot fairly certain that I would hate ALL of my pictures because I am always so self conscious and terrible about picking out ALL of my flaws. But now, I am so glad that I did it. I don’t even recognize the girl in those pictures. When I saw them, I said to myself “wow I’m a badass who knew” because I overcame my fears and did something that I NEVER thought I would and have pictures to prove it. Plus, this is one of the few times in my life that I really felt beautiful and confident in my body 😁

Any advice for boudie babes who are on the verge of booking but haven’t taken that leap yet?

To trust you! You are a professional and you know what looks good. It really helped me get comfortable when you showed me several of the images on the back of the camera and I saw how good I looked!

Ok, this may be a little out of my normal content zone but I really feel the need to share this today. And maybe someone out here can make sense of this for me. Do you know what one of the most frustrating things about being a woman is? Not a boudoir photographer, just a woman in general. Watching women rip other women to shreds. I see it everyday on social media, in magazines, and in real life. It honestly baffles me because when I see negative comments about a female I look to see who posted it and 9/10 times it’s another woman. Not a man. A woman. Why? I have yet to find one person who can honestly answer why women feel the need to do this. Why are we our harshest critics? Why do we feel the need to tear other women down instead of building them up? It’s hard enough to do all the things and be all of the things that society expects of women. You would think that by now we would have stopped this type of behavior but it just keeps happening. So if you don’t know by now, let me educate you on this. Putting someone else down and making them feel small won’t make you look or feel better. It’s *never* ok to comment on anyone else’s physical appearance or style. Never. If we all looked, talked, and acted the same this world would be so boring. Our differences are what make us unique and beautiful. There is room for all of us to shine, period. So if you have ever been at the receiving end of someone else’s insult let me tell you this- f*ck them. You are amazing, beautiful, and a badass. You are a force and this world is a better place because you are in it. End of story.
