One of the greatest lessons I have learned in my life is that we cannot change people or adjust their behavior with criticism or judgement. We cannot tell them that they are wrong for being who they are. We CAN, however, decide WHO and WHAT we will tolerate in our lives. What behaviors we’ll allow and who gets a ticket to the matinee. The tricky part is, we have to heal the parts of us that once felt it was acceptable to bend and break at the will of another. When we mend those parts and feel the wounds heal over—our hearts are no longer playgrounds for others to run amok. Our energy is sacred. You are the gatekeeper—your space is not a revolving door.
