Happy May 1st loves. Many cultures celebrate May 1st as the return of warmth and comfort and the beginning of happy season. If you’re from up north like me you probably remember the fairs littered throughout the month of May. Blooming season has always been a favorite of mine!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but… taking time to invest and appreciate yourself will not take away from something or someone else in your life. You can’t pour from an empty cup. So walk the beach alone, get your hair done, pick up the book you set down 3 months ago, set aside 2 hours where you have time to recover from overstimulation. Do what you have to do to recharge your battery. Because when you shine you help others shine too.

Almost forgot what day it is! I’ve been a little MIA lately and I apologize. I took some time off work to let my body rest and recoup. Every now and then I’m reminded that Lupus does what it wants when it wants, regardless of what you think you may have planned for yourself. So if you are a constant ball of motion like me this is your reminder that taking time to rest and be your best self isn’t a bad thing. It’s a self love and necessary thing.

Has anyone ever done the DNA test thing? Because I did and just got my results back. I’m 43% Polish (I mean we already knew this so no surprise there) and I now feel more justified glaring at someone who tells me to smile more. Can’t sorry, it’s in my DNA💁🏻♀️
