Alfonso and Kayley’s Engagement Session- The Meeting
Earlier this year I put out a model call on Facebook seeking an engaged couple who wanted to go on an adventure. I got several inquiries but nobody fit the bill quite like Kayley and Alfonso. I’ve been itching to try out a few new things and was looking for someone who would not only benefit from having some engagement photos but also would be willing to try anything. Kayley and Alfonso were two of the people who responded to my ad. When we met at Starbucks I told them the vision that I had in mind, they were game for just about anything I wanted to try. I suggested waterfalls and smoke bombs and they were quick to say yes. These two wanted engagement photos that looked different than everyone else’s, and I was happy to deliver them! I found the perfect location about 3 hours outside of Memphis. We traveled to the Duck River near Nashville and had an engagement session to die for.
The Day Of Shoot
The day started out a little warm here in Memphis and as we traveled further east the sky just opened up and just exploded onto my windshield. I was *so* nervous on the drive out there because I didn’t want it to rain on us. I think I did every please stop raining dance that I knew on the drive. My friend Heather was my assistant for the day and she snapped the whole process. When I say the whole process I mean even me geeking out at the rain. I knew we’d have a killer session either way, but rain just wasn’t in my vision for this couple’s killer pictures. Luckily as we approached the site the sky seemed to clear and the weather was tame. It was like this little bubble of sunshine right over our location because as soon as we wrapped and started the travel back to Memphis the sky opened up on us again. These two rocked it! They did a bit of hiking in fancier clothes, balanced on slick rocks, and at the end of the session they ended it sitting and laying down in the cold, cold waterfall and tiny overflow pool.
I *love* the way their session turned out, these two were total rockstars! Especially considering the 100+ heat we were working in. They totally slayed it, and I’m obsessed. Congrats you two! I see lots of adventures in your future 🙂
