Brittany and Trevor are a sweet couple who wanted a candlelit engagement session in Shelby Forest. I was so excited to capture this magical day for them.
I met Brittany a few weeks ago after she contacted me about photographing her upcoming wedding. When I met her and her fiancé, Trevor, to go over the wedding details and get to know the couple a little better. I was so excited to hear about how they met playing the game World of Warcraft and how Trevor moved to Memphis to be with Brittany. They’re having an intimate ceremony in Memphis and taking their reception downtown for some Memphis food and fun!
A Private Engagement
One of the things that I love about Brittany is how low key she is. She reminds me a lot of myself when I was engaged to my now husband. I really didn’t stress too much over the details, I just wanted to be married. While going over the engagement session and wedding details we had this conversation and both had a laugh about it. She wanted photos that show off her and Trevor’s love without being too over the top. She really liked the idea of a secluded place in the woods with candles, and I really wanted to make this happen for her.
I set out on a mission to find lanterns that I could decorate the area with. I found some super cute ones of all sizes and decided to decorate a small area in the woods. (The entire time I was hanging them I kept hearing Smokey the Bear saying “Only you can prevent forest fires!”) When I got to our location is started to sprinkle but we pushed ahead with the session and braved the crisp winter air. We spent the afternoon laughing, trying not to knock over candles, and documenting their love for each other.
The end result is a beautiful success that shows two people totally in love with each other. I’m so excited for their upcoming wedding!
